New work - Print design for Lara Bingle

Here's two new prints I created that have just been released for the LARA BINGLE for Cotton On BODY collection. The floral on the left is one of my favourite prints I've ever worked on - and it looks amazing in Lara's bikini shapes. Bring on summer! xx

New print - WINGSCAPE

Sometimes I go a bit rogue when I'm working and make artworks for no reason, and without any particular idea of how it might turn out. I just get on a tangent and roll with it. This print was one of those. I started with a photo of a butterfly and a couple of hours later - I've created one of my favourites prints for textiles. I love the purple and aqua with pops of chatreause, and I get a bit lost in it's kaleidoscopic pattern. Love this one. Cotton On Body used it in swimwear, sleepwear and lingerie, so everyone ended up happy xxx

The prints keep coming... this time for Cotton On Body

I left Cotton On back in January, however prior to leaving I worked on print for their ranges right up until October this year. This range of prints I created for Cotton On BODY's Active range has come out recently and I'm loving how they look together. My favourite is the print on the far left, perfect for Activewear.

Photoshoot with Nikole Ramsay and Emma O'Meara for Sunday Style Magazine

My design bestie Laine Fraser and I recently had the pleasure of being photographed by Nikole Ramsay and styled by Emma O'Meara at my home in Flemington for Sunday Style Magazine.
Sunday Style is Australia's most read glossy mag so it was a real priveledge to grace their pages a couple of weekends ago. The article profiled Laine and I and our inspirations behind our homewares brand TASSEL+GAINE. If you missed it, I'll put a copy of the article up soon.
Here's a couple of pics from the shoot, a detail shot from our workspace on the left, a collage of painted swatches from our inspiration wall on the right, and me surrounded by a few of my favourite things in the middle (including some TASSEL+GAINE cushions of course).
I'm heading over to India, Hong Kong and China on Monday for a couple of weeks - will post some updates on my travels while I'm away.

Drumroll... I've won the prize for world's slackest blogger for 2014! Standing ovation for that stella performance! The last 6 months have been massive for me and as my list of things to prioritise gets longer and longer, sadly my attention has been diverted from anything internet related and I'm head down ass up in real life and all the fun it brings!
TASSEL+GAINE has been kicking more goals that Laine and I could have imagined. Below is a cute little article GT Magazine put out recently incase you missed it.
My brother and his gorgeous girlfriend of 9 years, Holly, got married in Holly's Mum's backyard last weekend - we partied till dawn afterwards in the gardens at my Mum's house. It was a gorgeous day. They are so in love with each other, it's really inspiring. Mum is selling her house to move interstate so it was beautiful to have one massive party there - her house has been the go-to place for parties for a long time, so to have the last celebration there be as amazing as it was marked the end of an era in the most perfect way.
In a big move for me, I've left my job at Cotton On, and with mixed emotions. I worked with an amazing group of creatives there. I made alot of precious friends, saw the world, designed a shitload of stuff for a shitload of stores (over 1,300 and counting) and gave the many notorious Cotton On parties and Design trips a good nudge - there's so much that I'm really sad to be leaving behind.
On the flipside, the new opportunity that presented itself with up and coming lifestyle brand Mozi is the perfect next step in my career. When they approached me to work with Camilla and her sister Liv, the founders of the brand - there was no way I was going to pass that opportunity up. What these women have created is something I am really inspired by. They are kind, focused, creative, confident and hilarious individuals whose preference of quality over quantity is something I really resonate with.Their taste is impeccable and I can't wait to learn from them and grow with them as their brand grows.
Getting back to work after a decent break between job was HARD. I had put myself on a plane in the time between gigs - eating, sleeping, sketching and sunning myself around the place with friends and family. It was time well spent and cleared the slate from the last 2.5 years at Cotton On to prep me for the exciting next chapter in my life at Mozi.
Fun times ahead. Time to dive in xxx

NEW WORK - Lara Bingle for Cotton On Body

The Lara Bingle for Cotton On Body range was launched last October, and it's been so much fun working on her follow up collections. I created this Oil Slick print with a little help from some stock imagery, and my design buddy Annie Coyne took over putting part of it repeat. There's some killer prints to come for her future swimwear collections with Cotton On, they keep getting better and better so stay tuned.
It's also worth a mention that this collection won Popsugar's Best Designer Collaboration of 2013 - kicking the butts of Isabel Marant for H&M, Rihanna for River Island, Phillip Lim for Target and some others I can't remember. Fist pump! xxx

I have been sucked away into a world of non-stop work! TASSEL+GAINE launched not even two months ago and is going bananas, we've have some fun press and are going into some beautiful stores - plus our online store is getting a whole lot of love. I can't believe how well received our cushions have been - such an exciting time! Laine and I are busily planning our next steps so stay tuned!
This weekend the sun was shining in Melbourne so I made the most of it and headed out into the backyard to work on a new painting for our kitchen. I wanted something bright and colourful that would let me use lots of pattern and collage - so I went for a crazy colourful budgie. He's hanging up above our island bench now and has made himself right at home. So weird to not be finishing this digitally as most of my work is done now - there's no hiding anything on canvas xxx

I've been busily working behind the scenes on a mind-blowingly exciting project with the team at Cotton On Body and the one-and-only amazing Lara Bingle.

The collection launched instores around the globe and online last week and has just about sold out.
Lara has busted out some incredible work from her photo shoots for this collection, the shot below of her in the leopard one piece is just insane.
Instagram is going bananas with babes all over the planet posting which pieces of the collection they were able to get their hands on. It's great to see so many amazing young women getting excited about the product.
I'm so proud of the work I've contributed to this collaboration and to work with Lara was an absolute delight, her style is off the hook and her taste is impeccable.

I met yesterday in Sydney with Lara the team and went through her mood boards for the next collection and HOLY SHIT I'm excited for what's to come.

Love my job. xxx

Sunday drawing

After a massive week I decided to do as little as possible this weekend. That was all going very well until I tried to sleep in this morning (Sunday) and realized I'd quickly grown sick of not doing alot and needed to get up and get something done. I'm meeting a new client this afternoon so until then I've whipped up this little Bird encyclopedia-thingy illustration. I must say I'm a fan of that Cockatoo. Didn't expect to draw something I'd be so fond of this morning. A nice surprise indeed.  xxx
